Working for longstanding client Rendall & Rittner at residential apartments in Woolwich Arsenal Riverside, the Strata team are well underway on our sash window refurbishment programme.
The three separate apartment buildings, all varying in height and condition, each have grade listed protected status, so restoring these Victorian sash windows requires great care and respect, as our skilled operatives carry out:
- Preparation of timber sections – stripping, surface smoothing, knotting and application of weatherproof mastic in connections
- Easing of openings, lubrication of ironmongery
- Cleaning all areas and applications of fungicide
- Repairs to damaged timber glazing bars
- Replacement of glazing putty and adjusting stops as necessary to remove excessive gaps
All of the residents remain in their homes as we are delivering these repairs, so our team members are ensuring that disruption is kept to an absolute minimum and privacy is maintained, whilst they access the windows from the external scaffold platforms.
Our 16 week programme will draw to a close in mid-December, leaving the buildings looking lovely and fresh, just in time for Christmas.
