We were delighted to recently pay a visit to The Heart of Kent Hospice in Aylesford this month, to present a cheque for the monies we raised on our most recent fundraising sponsored staff hike, as well as to meet their team and have the opportunity to witness some of the fantastic work they do.
As part of our company promise to positively impact local communities, The Heart of Kent Hospice was voted for by our staff this year as the charity partner that they most wanted to raise sponsorship for, and back in May, they valiantly completed a 25.4km trek along the cliffs of the Kent coast raising almost £3k for the charity, who strive to help those live out the rest of their lives as comfortably as possible.
The Heart of Kent Hospice provide specialist care and support to adults who have a terminal illness as well as their families, friends and carers. They help people to live as fully and as well as possible for the rest of their lives and ensure that their final days are comfortable and peaceful, where ever they choose to be.
During our visit, we were particularly impressed with their award-winning specialist dementia support unit, that cares for patients and their loved ones right from the point of diagnosis, providing a free community for anyone who is affected, regardless of how they are referred.
This remarkable facility has a special place in our hearts, and we look forward to partaking in further activities to raise funds for them, as well as spreading awareness of their great work to our wider professional network.
