Strata Student Workshop at Riverside SEN School

As part of our ongoing plans to engage with and support the local communities within which we work, we were so excited to recently deliver a carpentry workshop at the Riverside School in Bromley.

On Wednesday 29th September Jamie Marks and Tracey Lev’y ran a morning of practical activities with the students of Atlantis Class, assembling pre-cut wooden panels to form garden bird boxes, before decorating them with foliage and garden ornaments.

“It made me think and use the tools to assemble it. My Mum loved it a lot.” – Rhys

“I liked gluing the leaves. I left it to dry. Mummy said we can put it in the garden. She said it was amazing.” – Cain

“My favourite part was screwing with an allan key. Aunty Joyce said it was good.” – Isaiah

The Riverside School is a special educational facility that provides a wide range of learning opportunities for pupils with complex needs, where every child is valued for who they are and given every opportunity to be all that they can be.
