Recently we have had the privilege of welcoming in a group of students from Riverside Special Educational School into the Strata offices at Invicta Business Park, for a fun-filled woodwork activity morning.
Strata have a longstanding relationship with the school, “where every pupil is truly valued for who they are”. As part of our company promise to positively impact local communities, we have led many activity days and trips for the pupils at Riverside over the past 3 years now. In addition, we also took part in their recent Employee Engagement open day event, aimed at encouraging various professional networks to connect with the school and their pupils, with the ultimate goal of supporting them into meaningful employment opportunities after their education.
Our workshop on Thursday 20th June enabled the students to have great fun constructing wooden birdboxes, an activity which aimed to help them improve their skills, whilst they also had the opportunity to explore a real live workplace, as part of providing inspiration for their future working potential.
Leading the activity was our Managing Director Tracey Lev’y, alongside one of our Multi-skilled Engineer – Stuart Cherrison, and Business Support Coordinator – Shelley Ellingworth, who all thoroughly enjoyed the morning and were very grateful to all the students for their participation and enthusiasm.
We can’t wait to see them again!
