Ever heard of Racketlon? The chances are probably not.
In Racketlon you play an opponent at the four main racket sports, Table Tennis, Badminton, Squash and Tennis one after the other, 21 points in each sport. The winner is the person who has the most points after the four sports.
There is an International tour and a UK tour.
In November last year Mark Steeden our Health And Safety Manager represented Great Britain for the first time in the European team and singles championships in Prague. GB sent teams in all disciplines, under 16, under 21, Elite, Amateur, over 45 and over 55
Mark played in the over 45’s team and after beating Austria in the quarter final and Hungary in the semi-final the team eventually lost in the final to a very strong Sweden team.
He also played in the over 45’s singles and lost in the quarter finals to eventual runner up Anders Rickard from Sweden.
In all, team GB finished top of the medals table, a reflection no doubt of our strength across all the divisions.
