When a ruptured water pipe caused extensive flooding at one of our client’s commercial properties in Kings Hill recently, our team stepped up to the challenge with a swift and coordinated response across multiple disciplines. Our team completed the reinstatement works programme in just 4 working days, fully restoring the office space, addressing everything from electrical systems to flooring and decor.

This incident required immediate action. Our on-call plumber attended the client’s emergency call, isolating the water supply to prevent further ingress and identifying the ruptured pipe within the ceiling void. From there, our team quickly mobilised to lift carpets and raised flooring, allowing the electrician to safely isolate circuits and assess the extent of damage to the electrical systems. Once deemed safe, the rest of the team began the flood cleanup, removing all damaged ceiling tiles, carpets, raised floor tiles, and electrical components for disposal.

As the area was left to dry, investigations were carried out to understand the cause of the pipe failure, while a reinstatement solution was agreed upon with the building management agent and their insurance loss adjuster.

Once instructed, our team returned to complete the repairs:

  • The ruptured pipework was repaired, allowing the water to be safely restored.
  • New underfloor power tracks, floor boxes, and raised floors were installed.
  • Carpets were replaced, decorations were refreshed, and the furniture was reconfigured to its original layout.

Key elements of our remedial works included:

  • Full electrical system overhaul
  • Complete carpet replacement
  • Carpentry repairs and redecorations to water-damaged walls and skirting

Throughout the process, we coordinated multiple trades and secured materials with a rapid turnaround, all while delivering high-quality, long-lasting finishes. Our client was thrilled with the results, praising the team for going the extra mile by removing unrelated old furniture and suggesting additional decorating services to maximise the opportunity for improvements.
