Project Description

Strata were appointed by retail landlord ‘Appear [Here]’, to carry out decoration works within the busy Deptford Market Yard, located in Lewisham, London.

Deptford Market Yard is a vibrant community space which is home to a range of companies including coffee shops, restaurants and independent stores. There are 14 individual units in total, some of which sit currently vacant.

Our experienced team were responsible for transforming the shopfronts, giving them a sleek and modern makeover.

Works included:

  • Removing any metal plates/ironmongery from the doors
  • Filling any holes found in the woodwork
  • Placing protective tape/sheeting to nearby fixtures and fittings such as window glass
  • Application of weatherproof wood paint

Due to optimal weather conditions, the expert team decided to use a spray painting application as this was the fastest, most efficient method of applying the two coats of paint required.

The spray painting method is fast-drying and allowed Strata to remove the visitor separation barriers once application of paint was complete. This ensured minimal disruption to the live environment and any concern of smudging during the drying process was removed.

One of the businesses was particularly anxious about the works being carried out during their opening hours. To overcome this challenge, our flexible and understanding team negotiated with the tenant and arrived early on-site one morning to begin the painting at 5am.

This gained positive feedback from the tenant who was able to open at the start of trade without any disruption.
